I have twice done this very same hunt. First Chewore for elephants and then on to Humani, however I did most of my hunting in Humani with a recurve bow (so I would not be worried about a .375!!!!). Who is going to be your PH? Humani is part of the Save Conservancy (several ranches were joined) and althought it has had some trouble with people invading part of it, the area is huge. There are elephants, lions and a LOT of leopards. Once I was in a blind and had a Cheetah with 3 cubs about 4 steps from us (my wife was with me and got a really nice video). On another trip I had huge bull rhino mudding himself in front of me for a long time. But the real nice thing about Humani is to stalk the elephant paths near the river with the bow (or gun). Lots of bushbucks and some Kudu and other game. Roger is an excelent host and you please send my best to him and his family, Dante |
