I relate to your situation. I am going to Zimbabwe next month for buffalo. I know I cant afford to shoot everything I want even if there is an opportunity. However, I know I must seize the opportunity if a really nice trophy presents itself. My outfitter told me a possibilty may exist for me to take a tuskless cow elephant. I cant afford not to take advantage of the opportunity. With travel expenses rising, not to mention the unstable politics of the region its hard to say when I may be able to go back. I will simply have to bite the bullet. If I were to actually wait until I could afford a trip like this, I would never have gone. I can't think of one good reason not to go. I may not shoot every impala or zebra that comes around the corner, but I will darn sure do my best to get a nice kudu if I see one. Along woth the aforementioned costs, taxidermy, shipping and all the other associated expenses, trophy fees just seem to be part of it. That doesnt stop one from doing a little hagglng! That does sound pricey. |
