I don't like bolt rifles with detachable mags cause they tend to have feeding problems when I operate them. Got rid of two bolt rifles with this feature.have an old Remington 742 that is semi reliable maybe because of the detachable magazine.Don't know how to fix the blame on the mag but I suspect it is the culprit.

Having said that I have several semiauto's with detachable mags that feed literally perfect!!Dunno why they feed great and my previous bolts didn't.

Come to think of it I do have an A Bolt with its affixed magazine and it feeds flawlessly.Can't explain why one works and one doesn't--
