Another popular image of the African Carry, with magazine rifles is the rifle carried bolt open on an empty magazine. The bolt being held open by a non beveled magazine follower. While this would not allow bringing an unloaded rifle quickly into action it must be a lot safer during transport than carrying a magazine rifle with the bolt closed on ... ?

I'm assuming this non beveled magazine follower comes from sporterised ex military rifles. The original purpose in the heat of battle was so the common soldier could not close the bolt on an empty rifle, and was prompted to load another clip of rounds.

I wonder how many best quality magazine rifles still have this feature ?
