I usually carry shotguns and light rifles resting on my left arm holding the pistol grip with my right hand. I use a carry with heavier rifles I picked up from Peter Capsticks Videos with the rifle slung on my left shoulder with the gun in front and my palm against the stock. To deploy the rifle I simply reach across and grasp the pistol grip with my right hand and grip the forearm with my left and raise to rifle to my shoulder on one rotating motion. Works very well for me. Quick too! About the only time i carry in the conventional right shoulder sling arms, is when i have either made a kill and simply want to transport, and before or after legal shooting hours. Hunter safety literature shows good safe carry positions when hunting with other shooters in various positions too. |
