The UK was reporting prices of up to about UK£1.45 per litre, but that was unusual and partly due to a strike. I guess about UK£1.15 per litre is more usual. That works out at about US$2.30 a litre which is about US$10 per US gallon or US$11.50 per imperial gallon. Here in South Africa we're currently paying about ZAR9 per litre which translates to about US$5.80 per US gallon. Which of course means that everyting is going up in price. I have a buddy who runs a small supermarket over here and he tells me that on average prices have trebled over the last three years. Even the SA prices are making me think twice before getting in my 5.7 litre V8 and if I don't need to carry much, I'm using my motorcylce a lot more............ |
