Re: 'The African Carry'.

I use "African Carry" ie the gun on my shoulder with the barrels foward quite a bit.

I use it at times, no matter where I am hunting or what I am hunting.

I am very careful not to muzzle sweep others.

When pivoting or turning around I depress the barrels downward, so no "flesh" is covered by the muzzle.

When walking through thick brush and I am behind another person, and there is only 2 of us I carry the gun with the barrel to the rear in my left or right hand.

If there is a bunch of us I carry the rifle barrel foward but off to the side so again no human is covered by the barrel.

When climbing or negotiating difficult obsticals or handing the gun up to an elevated blind I unload the chamber[s].

I always hunt with my guns loaded.

However, safety is of paramount importance.

The key to gun safety is try to never let the gun point at another human, even yourself, no matter how you carry it.
