March 2013, in North Cameroon.
Late in the afternoon, failing to find a waterbuck, the PH Guy Betaille, decided to go back to camp. While driving they saw a lioness and 2 juvenile males attempting to cross the road. They stopped and the lions in good spirit, decided to lay on the road. They took pictures and then found the situation during to long. Guy decided to dogde the lions with the truck full speed and roaring. The lions jumped aside and ran after the truck a couple of hundreds meters. The hunter noticed that he has lost his cap and that the lioness had clamped it ( See the picture )before a lion stole it.
Next day in the morning, they retrieved the cap 300m further, almost unscathed. A fond memory for the hunter who has puntures in the cap to prove it.
