I have had one of the skeleton stocked MKIIs in .308 for years, has taken a lot of game for me, the only smithing that is has had was a sear polish to lighten the trigger and nothing else. It still shoots 3 round 1 inch groups at 100m. probably about as rugged and reliable as a rifle can get.
