Leupold Vari X III 3.5-10x50 AO The prey, a nice ( not really trophy grade ) Red Stag. It was a rare ocassion with almost no wind ( very strage situation ). The distance was about 550 yards, on a mountain side. One shot, and he went down like being struck with a celestial hammer. Shot right to the shoulder, where it belongs, with a though bullet that smacked bone with authority and perfect performance. Second time, in 2003, near the beautiful city of Bariloche. Same rifle, same scope, but now wiht a nice load of 180gr CT FailSafe. Now was the time for a wild hog who was rovering around, when I was searching the mountains for an elusive Red Stag. Distance about 480 yards. The guide was amazed at the shot ( free hand standing ) also I was That mountain hog took the shot, turn off the lights and said goodbye to all. |
