Plain-Jane versions of the 1903 MS carbine tend to sell for around 1500 to 2000 AUD unscoped in Australia these days, perhaps 2 1/2 grand or more if in really good nick. With a nice custom stock, near-exhibition wood, checkered-steel butt-plate, etc, it could fetch quite a bit more at auction I suppose.
I was quite fortunate with that one many years ago, part trade and a few dollars, amounting to perhaps $900 total, at a time when that equalled about 450 USD. You can be lucky sometimes!
