Years ago I had a moose hunt planned and used it as rationalization to buy a Remington 700 Classic in 35 Whalen; it was at the time Remington had just made the Whalen a production caliber.

I didn't get to go moose hunting because of a broken foot, but I still have the Whalen. I have only taken three deer, an elk, a Kudu, and a Waterbuck with it, and had great experience so far. Das Mafia is right about the 250 gr bullets...stick with that, and nothing else!

There are just so many good medium bore calibers...I wish someone would wake up and bring out the 338/'06 in a production caliber, however. It walks away from the Whalen at longer ranges. I tend to like my 9,3's about as well as anything I have ever used...so versitile!

I think we need to lobby for the 9,3x64 here in the US...What a caliber!!!
