sometime back in the 50s my grandfather got his hands on and sporterized an 8mm Mauser 98... well, due to bullet selection, he turned it into a 30-06, and I'm picking up another 98 in 35 whelen, so we've framed the original chambering quite nicely.

if I were to find one today, I'd leave it in 8mm, I can actually get 8mm Mauser ammo at the store and for most of the hunting we do around here, it is more than adequate. now if Hornday would load an LM for it, that would be bad-ass.
