thanks for the reply's gentlemen. i picked up the 1.5-5 vx-III and have used it on a PA white tail so far this year. very happy with the scope and very happy i stayed away from higher magnification. thinking i might try a fixed 2.5 leo if i end up with the new 450/400 ruger no 1.
