Re: How short is too short of a 300 Win Mag barrel?

Allen don't miss it by much if at all. Most often, never.

Benelli did some good research on this before they produced their semi-auto of the same. 24" is about the least for the 'mostest'. Wished I had that link handy. I've a 375 H&H w/muzzle break, 21" bbl, and the the blast is ~ about the same, comparably. Hurts with with no ear plugs. For true.

But, that Benelli semi-auto, 24" did shoot good, it did. I sure liked it. Zeiss 3x9 Conquest on it and a 1" rifle. Close to it. Nice gun.

I'd not go less for a 300 mag than 24" on bbl length. As Allen said,,,,"why do it?" 30.06 is just fine. 35 Whelen even better - Nasty bitch that one is for shorter bbls. Git'er'done and out to 300 yds. Got one of them too.
