I always load a full magazine, and have one in the chamber. If this doesn't work, then it needs to be fixed by someone who knows how to.

I have one question though, you mention: "I do shoot occasionally at two clubs in Wisconsin that allow magazines to be fully loaded and shall try to do that with my MAuser just for fun."

Does this mean that it is common for people not being allowed to load a full magazine on US rifle ranges? And if so, what is the reasoning behind this???
