An old habit that I acquired in India was not to load a magazine to full capacity as I was told that the rounds could jam in the magazine if this was done. And those who taught me this were old timers who had some of the "Best" guns from the days of the Raj when imports were allowed. These days when I read of the practice of loading a magazine in full and also of having one round in the chamber, I wonder if the old timers in India were being unneccessarily cautious or if the terribly hot and humid weather did this to the rifles that they hunted with? Or, were they just plainly wrong in assuming this? Thank you for your replies in advance and good hunting! |
