Without a dought my favorite calibre for medium game. I have (2) .318 Westley Richards droplock double rifles that I just love. Those here may be shocked as I have taken elephant with this calibre back in 1971, it was a brain shot of course. Also rhino and hippo met their demise at the end of my .318 Westley, though now a days its .375 minimum required by law.

A .318NE is best compared to a bolt of lightning. I can't say enough about this great British calibre, though the only draw back is that it's a very high pressure load, and the burn is very hot on the bores. You must really treat a 318's bores with lots of tlc if you want it to last a lifetime. As such it's not recommened for the unexperienced.
