Don, Thanks for measuring the rim thickness. I think the 30R Blaser is a good candidate for conversion to .400/.360 Westley Richards. The size at the head is really close, the rim isn't too large, and it's only about 0.050" short of the nominal length of the WR cartridge. This idea developed from studying dimension data from Cartridges of the World, and it may not work at all. I just today took delivery of the .400/.360 WR. Further, I've never laid eyes on a 30R Blaser case. I'll know more about the Westley after a chamber cast and bore slug. Huntington lists RWS cases in 30R Blaser a damn sight cheaper than their Bertram in .400/.360 WR. So far I'm not impressed with Bertram's fidelity to dimensions.
