In all practicality, the 338-06 is a better choice, but I understand your feelings regarding an all African rig. You will have to live with your choice, and the 338-06 is probably a better bed partner here in the US.

Have you ever considered a 9,3X62? There is a classic from early Africa that does all either of the others will, but is a bit of a bigger "hammer" when needed.
