Dugaboy1 Your post caught my attention real fast. I enjoy the Martini's. I am in the process of restoring one. It is a Francotte style Cadet that is in 297/230 Morris Long. I am in need of barrel bands and cross pins. By any chance did any of those Cadet you customized start out as .297/230 Morris Long. I would be interested in talking to about the remianing parts. I am consulting with Bob Snapp in helping a couple of fellows who are planning on reintroducing all new Martini Cadets. .307 Winchester is to fat* to fit a Cadet Action. Because of the small barrel tenon the chamber walls would be too thin and you would have to load down anyway. Better off with a 30/30 as your biggest cartridge in the Cadet. You shoot the 30/30 in a cadet and you will think it is a completely different cartridge than what goes through a 1894 Winchester. The Hot big game cartridge for the Cadet right now is the 7-30 Waters. *I had the word "long" in there instead of fat, but the truth is that it may be also be to long as well fat...DD |
