I have a friend with a Stainless. Comp Savage .375 H&H who loads to 2,550/2,600fps with the 270 Hornady SP's. This load shoots bug holes (3/8" groups) in his rifle, and has never failed to anchor a moose where it was standing(or running). As a guide, he's dropped 6 or 7 now, that were previously hit poorly. That bullet, at that velocity seems to be perfect for that job. : Although very light jacketed (I presume), the Sierra 250gr. BT spitzer is exceptionally accurate in my .375 at 2,700fps. For long range deer or antelope, it might be perfect. |
