Re: worlds best rimfire

Have to agree with Gryphon about the Brno. Admittedly I have only used one, but I have used it alot (shooting bunnies in SA - 22LR). Not sure of the exact model, but it is a bolt action 5 shot (or so) sporter purchased new in about 2002. It has had sticky trigger/bolt problems from day dot, despite going back to the shop for smithing. Nice accurate rifle and a good balance, but I avoided buying one in case I got the same problem with the action.

I'm on my second Anschutz - first in 22LR as a kid (loved it), and now a 17HMR heavy barrel. Extremely straight shooter and good action etc... Probably wouldn't bother with a heavy barrel in hindsight.

Years ago I did a bit of shooting with a single shot iron sighted old 22 called a Skoblidge (spelling?). It was a friend's and he wouldn't part with it. I pulled off some amazing shots with that little thing. If there is such a thing as a 'lucky rifle' that was it for me!
