Gentlemen, I have the task to select and test a hunting load for a Brünner ZG47 in .358 Winchester with a barrel length of 50cm / ca. 20 inches. Cases are original from Winchester. Standard LR primer Powder: Kemira N140 The rifle is intended for roe deer and small boars (max 50kg) upto 150 meters. Mounted optic is a Zeiss 2,5-10 power scope with 52mm objective lens diameter. I tested 180grs Speer SP FN and 200grs Sierra SPRN, velocities for the 180grs Speer were max 790 m/s with good precision. However, this bullet seems to be a little bit soft (Steve Z´s experience) and also a little bit light for the small boars. What do you think about the Sierra 225grs SPBT Gameking for this application? Also the Nosler 225grs Accubond comes to mind, but this is rarely offered for purchase here. Any of your suggestions or experiences are appreciated, thank you! best regards Rolf |
