I believe the stock material is fine and durable (I guess we'll see), it's just that Browning had an issue with the Duratouch coating. In all fairness they stepped up to the plate, took responsibility and replaced the stocks free of charge (at least in the USA). I mean they did what they should but it's becoming less standard behavior these days, especially in the car industry.


This rifle was a triple first for me:
- first stainless steel rifle
- first synthetic stock
- first Browning


I prefer timber and blued but at the time I was looking for a rifle specifically for "Plains Game" event of BGR and had an unfulfilled fetish for an 8mm Rem Mag - this was the next best thing that came up and was at a good price being secondhand. I wasn't expecting it to be as accurate as it is.
