Recently purchased an FN Model 98 with 24 inch barrel in 6.5-06. I'm using Hornady 25-06 cases necked up and 140 gr Nosler Partitions along with a healthy dose of Reloader 19. Nice accuracy and gave complete penetration on an eight point whitetail buck at 30 yards.

I'm not expecting to take it to Africa to replace my 30-06 as Eland is on my list but aside from Eland, I suspect it would be a fine plains game cartridge. Have any members of this group used this cartridge to good effect in Africa?
