Thanks Daryl. When I click the photo links, they open with annoying ads above and below the gun photos. Sorry about that, I don't know how to fix it. I picked up the .222 long ago in a Holts sealed bid sale. It's far from 'stock' with the front and rear sights removed and sling swivels and a recoil pad and scope added, but I've warmed up to the looks. It came to me with a cheap scope. I came across a Brno 511 (581?) with the Ajack on it, so I moved it to the .222 and tossed the cheap one. The Ajack is incredibly bright and clear, probably the best scope I have. I don't know when it was made. The rifle is very heavy, probably about 10 lbs with scope. (I can see why someone added sling swivels). The Remington .25 would a very handy little weapon for deer if you could get close enough to them. For me, that would be about 100 yards with the peep sight and a tree to hold the rifle against:). I do like the .25 Rem cartridge, both the looks and the performance. |
