Took my son out this weekend.. he is 10.. first tag for him really in Montana.. YOUTH HUNT , special program.. He took a very nice older buck at about 90 yards.. He was super happy, telling me after it was over that he had "the shakes".. I could not have been more proud of him... I told him to HOLD ON TO THAT FEELING..

Wunderbar! Waidmannsheil! Excellent. Congratulations to your son.

Did he use a 7mm PRC?

90 metres a good normal hunting range. Respectable.

A fine trophy. A mule deer? Is it his first. Will look great in his room.

Used the only caliber worth using in Montana.. 6 ARC

Actually used his Tikka .243 I bought him for Christmas last year.. He shoots it very well.. 90gr Swift Scirocco bullets..Leupold VX 5--3-15 Scope.. (Great Scope btw, for the money, only one I will buy at that price point, have 5 of them now on different calibers inclluding my 28Nosler)

YES, mule deer..older buck.. not so great genetics so was happy he was taken out of the gene pool.. he was bedded with nearly 2 dozen doe's in the sage brush..
