Back when I was well into shooting everything with my 1895.405 WCF, a friend offered to let me shoot his M71 .348. That friend is 6ft 4 inch and a Marine, so he thought his M71 did not have much recoil and I took a couple of shots with the .348. I liked the style, weight, and balance, but not the recoil, which caused the barrel to flip up way too far. Magna Porting might have helped, but I much preferred my heavier 1895 .405, a caliber which I also shoot in a DR.
