At long range, it is much easier to spot your hits. I was able to see that at 1000yards with my Browning .300 WinMag. There is a big difference in seeing hits at long range and seeing them at 100 to 300yards. Even the .17Rem and .222 Sako Varmint rifles, I only see about 75% of the hits. When shooting field rats my buddy, using a sporter Sako .22-250, saw zero hits. We put a medium varmint barrel on it chambered for .17AckBee and not he sees every hit, even though shooting the same speed at the .17Rem. does, but with 20gr. bullets. |
