Butt ugly looks of the stock. There are several rifles that have butt ugly stocks, the Aussie Lithgow's, Styer Pro Hunter but guess what? They work and they shape works better than the -what I consider - sweet looking stock shapes. Polymer stocks, not a problem as they are functional but I do like a well shaped and dimensioned wooden stock with good grain-not fancy - and colour.... sweeeet.

Exactly.. would be impossible for me to care any less how it looks while I am out hunting. Apparently I am not alone, look at all the people out hunting with mausers..

They work incredibly well for what I am doing.. and shoot even better.. so, go ahead, laugh all you want.. meanwhile I'll be enjoying a nice glass of wine with my elk steak..
