So I'm currently torn between two rifles, shown below. I was origionally going for the Sako but then stumbled upon the Merkel.

While I have no experience with the Merkel, I do like that it's a bit different with regards to the enclosed bolt action and the fish scale checkering. The Stutzen is also a bit hard to find I believe.

What I don't like about the Merkel is that I believe the only compatible scope mount available is over $300 (either the Makuick or Recnagel detachable mounts). I also think Merkel customer support isn't as ubiquitous as Sako and the Merkel is a bit heavier.

Anyone own a Merkel?
