I have one in 30-06 that, according to the serial number register, was made in 1937, second year of production. lovely condition, hardly used, very smooth and accurate. Unfortunately , the previous owner had scope mounts fitted so it’s not totally original, but still a wonderful rifle to hunt with. My sons have banned me from taking it Sambar hunting as it gets too scratched in the dense bush. I suspect that they are thinking of the inheritance collection.
