I was in Natal in RSA in '88 and '89.
Most common calibers were .308 and .243 I think.
.270 and .30-6 common, too.
Have taken two trips to South Africa. Took my 30-06 both times. Harvested eight big game animals, all one-shot kills, except for the wildebeest (he took 3 rounds). Several mule deer, whitetail, pronghorn and elk as well. Proof is in the freezer! 30-06 rules! Nuff said.
