I like my 1936 M70 .30/06 - first '06 I've ever had. Yeah - got a .300 Magnum - it's fine for plinking at steel at long range, but the '06 is my hunting rifle.
I would prefer the .300 mag didn't have a belt, like the new ctgs., it doesn't need a belt, but it does have one and that's OK, I'll put up with it.
