It was a great shooter on an Old Model (30Rem.) 1917 '06. An even more interesting ctg. would be an 8x68S necked to .30. I think that is the .30 Bayer or .30 Bauer - set a new WR at 1000yards a while back, at 1 7/8" for 5 shots. That of course has been beaten twice - down to around 1 3/8" now - still the same round, I think, with 180gr., or maybe a 187gr. FB match bullet. I might have some of the details wrong, however a .30 on the 8x68S case would be an interesting round. |
