I think the 300WSM is better - larger selection of bullets, frontal area does has something going for it.

However it's a perfectly good cartridge in the realm of 7mm Rem Mag and will kill anything
a 270, 7mm (non magnum) will.

Range just a like any other 7mm - longer than 7 x 57, like 7mm Rem Mag.
