That was quite informative. Ripp - but no mention (unless I missed it) of the Ruger 10-22 carbon wrapped and stressed barrels.

My Browning factory 26" .300mag. puts the first 3 from 3 separate factory hunting loads, 3 different weights, into 1/2" groups, but by the 3rd shot, fired with cold (70F) barrel start, the heat waves are starting to distort the scope's image. After the 3rd shot, the barrel must be allowed to cool.

I have heard the carbon wrapped barrels will extend shooting for at least double the amount of rounds before needing to be cooled down.

Think this article was mostly on PROOF barrels ..so no mention of Ruger..

Anyway, I have had 3 carbon barreled rifles so far.. with a 4th currently being built ..Definance action with a Proof barrel --will be chambered in 28 Nosler...

The one currently I still have is made by Fierce ..Canadian based company with ties to here in the US I believe..chambered in 26 Nosler..its a barn burner..shooting 130 gr Swift Scirocco's at 3400+fps..

Have only shot pronghorn and deer so far..oh, and 1 coyote...but is extremely accurate and yes, does let heat dissipate quickly, or so it seems...

Really looking forward to the 28Nosler..plan to use it exclusively for a year or two..provided I get the bullets I want to use to shoot accurately ...with the high velocity plan to use the A-Frames..Accubonds, Partitions, etc will not hold up , especially on elk sized game..
