One day we were at the shooting range sighting in our scopes and after we were satisfied that evrything was allright,we drove around looking for some wild dogs to test our rifles on some live bait.I was carrying a .270 zeroed at 300 yds.We saw a wild dog at about 550 yds. and i decided to take a shot at it just to see how close i could get to it.I don't remember how high i held the rifle but to my surprise and that of my friends i shot the animal and it dropped dead.That was the longest shot in my hunting career and from that day on i was nicknamed "long rifle" by my friends.
