My .300 Mag is an Austrian double rifle by Josef Winkler. It's a tackdriver and really is handy. My last hunt with it I shot a white tail deer at 265 yards across a harvested corn field. One shot right through the heart. Next week I am going to northern British Columbia to hunt black bear, and the .300 Mag DR is going with me.

Oh, I also use .300 Mags in bolt guns - one .300 Win Mag and one .300 WSM, but the DR is where my heart lies.

My load is a 220 grain Hornady RN over 80.0 grains of Hodgdon Retumbo with a CCI 250. It yields 2750 fps by chronograph.
