Yeah - few numbers off - I noticed that one - 3,100fps With/165/8 would be a good stiff load for a .300 Win. Mag. Who knows if the writer got it wrong, or the editor who changed the article to 'fit' his head space.
Point about the 'records' is spot-on. I do applaud the Brit sniper with with double kill of Taliban on the machine-gun, at about 2,400 meters with his .338 Lap. Supposed to be a 1,500meter rifle.
