Smith Enterprises The sight I used is actually made for a .45-70 Marlin 1895 rifle with octagon barrel. I've probably got enough elevation adjustment for 2,000+ yards with a 7x57 I had to put a shim under the rear portion to raise it up enough to be visible above the front receiver ring and file the goove on the elevation slider a bit. Then it took a bit of calculation to order the right front sight. But it's all dialed in right where I want it now. Next I may replace that two stage military trigger with something a bit more modern. Then again, I may just learn to shoot it the way it is. |
