Some images of a customised JGA 17 HMR. A cruel friend insisted I customise this little varmint rifle for him, done about 10 years ago. A stainless Lilja barrel fitted by John Giles, with a custom profile, then the rest of the work by me. The original JGA stock reshaped, slimmed up a lot. I added some detailing but i wasn’t able to improve the lines through the grip much however. Ebony forend tip and grip cap. Most of these images were taken by the owner, wish he had taken better snaps of the grip cap. Checkered 22 LPI, spent a lot of time on the checkering. The wood took the checkering very well. The wood was very light in colour so I added a lot of walnut colour to the finishing oil. The action epoxy bedded and the scope rings lapped a bit. The owner said it shoots well when he is sober. Lots of work on the bolt. A custom stainless bolt knob replacing the round plastic knob. The bolt body repolished and jewelled in a fine pattern.
