I have a Sako 85 Black Bear in 9.3x62 that I took to Cameroon in December. Worked great and love it. I think it the same barreled action as the Argos. Recoil is very mild. It has an MPI express stock. I also have a Sako 85 Grey Wolf in 338 Federal. I had it restocked by MPI and had a barrel band sling swivel and NECGS adjustable rear and ramp front sigh mounted. It shoots like a pussy cat. My brother took it to RSA and took kudu, impala, bushbuck and eland with it. I really think the 338 federal is dead. Brass is impossible unless you can find factory loads. The 9.3x62 is medicine on antelope up to eland and available. My ammo did not arrive until 3 days after I did in Cameroon but the outfitter managed to scrounge a half box for me, zero chance of that with a 338 Federal. I really like the Sako 85, I'm even having Kevin Weaver build me a 400 Whelen on a SS model 85. |
