As some of you have already mentioned, I too believe the biggest problem, is the Police at the Australian end of the Importation.
FYI, I'm left feeling that they (the Police and or their masters), don't like individuals (non F/arm dealers), applying for B-709's? I might be wrong on this but it's not the first time I've heard of individuals, having lots of problems obtaining a B-709!

Further to this, as a F/arms dealer, I have never had an issue obtaining any B-709, even for Category "C" firearms (Browning A5 semi-auto seedgun's, etc).
From submitting the application, to having the B-709 in my hand, is usually under 7 days.
