Yes W, I'm aware of Dalys finish's but have not seen them here in oz, so don't have an opinion. It would be another option to try if available. I imagine various stockmakers in the USA would use it. Is your book the nice one by Turpin, about the D.Miller company? Check the links here.. http://www.customgunandrifle.com/gunsmithing-tips/stock-finishing. Wiebe also has alkanet in his products page. http://www.dalyswoodfinishes.com/ read the specs pages and compare to Rustins DO. The Dalys Sea-Fin you mention is a marine type finish. Rustins has a different product for outdoors. We could all go mad & broke worrying about which one might be the best, and experimenting with everything. Regards, Gabe93 |
