.338/06 would be OK - .35 Whelen (or Whelen IMP) even better - even super & exactly what Elmer Keith (1903 Spr. in .35 Whelen)used in Alaska - back in the ahhhh - lemme see, maybe 50's?
If that is incorrect as to the rifle used, pls correct me.
Thought it was a Griffen & Howe Model 1903 Springfield in .35 Whelen.
Of course, .318 would be OK as well, just hard to find .330" bullets in the USA, in that they are not THAT common, not like .338's or .358's.
