My '98 9.3x62 has a 24" barrel & weighs 7'10oz without scope. This is the reason the 9.3x62 is a better choice than .375H&H in almost all situations. The lighter rifle swings & points more readily helping the shooter to get off the aimed shot more quickly. The .375H&H is a great & popular cartridge however its design leads to much heavier & longer firearms restricting its flexibility. The 9.3 does not give away much to the .375 in terms of power when reloaded. My Walther barrel shoots the 320gn WoodleighRN at almost 2400fps for the tough stuff & there are many great choices for the plains from 232gn-286gn.
