I agree with postman. I think the 9.3X62 is an excellent rifle, better in many ways than our 35 Whelen mostly for the reason of bullets available for it. I wish .366 barrels were more available in the USA for a lower price. Wishing doesn't usually produce much progress for me however. I have a Mauser in 300 H&H, a 9.3X74R Ruger #1, and a Mauser 375H&H. I really have no need for anything else in between the 300 and the 375, but I have toyed with the idea of making a 9.3X62 on a Mauser with an 18" barrel and a full stock with German side paneled. My 375 is a 9.5 pound rifle with a 25 inch barrel, and my 300 is a 10.5 pound rifle with a 27 inch barrel. So have a powerful rifle in a carbine length might be nice. I made this 8X57 in that style and I think a 9.3 may be a good match for it. ![]() ![]() We have lots of Grizzly Bears in the mountains where I hunt elk and such a rifle might be nice for hunting elk in steep country where repelling borders may be necessary. |
