If/when I go on a serious mtn hunt, I weigh everything..but refuse to use any rifle over 7.5 lbs--and preferably lighter...as I previously stated, on my last hunt I used a Lex Webernick in 280AI--with scope about 6.5lbs .and shoots like a dream..one of the best I have...

was half the weight of my other pack and more room..technology in some/most cases is a beautiful thing...
